By following a strategy of acquiring and capitalizing on undervalued assets in South America the company has managed to secure a steady revenue stream to fund growth. In five years, from 2008-2012 the company has increased in value by 63% (Appendix B). Additionally the company has an impressive debt to total assets ratio of 0.25 and a current ratio of 2.16 (Appendix C). On May 24, 1992, Ramon Flores was working at a gas station that was getting robbed and was shot and killed. The man charged with his murder was Michael R. Pulido. He was charged with first degree murder along the felony murder law. That law states that killing during the act of a felony, in this case a robbery, is automatically first degree murder. The way I have interpreted the facts of this case, the defendant was the one who pulled the trigger and point toward him as the killer. To come to this decision, the jury had to conclude that the defendant had intent to commit a felony, killed during the act of a dangerous felony, and that the victims death was a foreseeable outcome of the felony.…

I do think all companies could most definitely be inspired by Patagonia’s level of loyalty by their employees. I believe if the moral of the organization is good, then the company can accept excellent productivity to accomplish their goals. Even, if the employees are happy then you have people that really want to work for you. The employees of Patagonia had a certain type of devotion and loyalty and that level is so hard to find within companies today. There must be a strong high moral in a company to prevent a high turnover rate by employees. But, the most interesting thing about Patagonia is that their employees love working there and love the people that they come in contact with. Patagonia and its owners were real down to earth…

Perhaps one of the most seminal Supreme Court decisions was the case of United States v. Alfonso Lopez (1995). After nearly a half-century of decisions by the Court in favor of expanded federal power via the Constitution’s Interstate Commerce Clause, the Justices issued a ruling limiting the reach of Congress, signaling a seismic shift on the Court’s interpretation of the Clause. The Court’s decision also sent a strong statement to Congress regarding the legislative body’s jurisdiction over a bevy of activities with a nexus to interstate commerce — from gun control to environmental protection to education.…

    Norco Case Summary

The Norco case teaches us that science is as important a part of the environmental justice movement as activism and public policy. This is because scientific claims can be made by anyone, from powerful multinational corporations to members of marginalized communities. Investigation and testing of these claims in a scientific fashion have the ability to show that some claims made by those with power are false, as well as vindicate the claims of marginalized individuals or groups. This makes science a great equalizer of political power. In the end, research using the scientific method is the only reliable way that we know of to find out the truth of the world around us.…

The first alternative that Natureview Farm can take in an attempt to increase revenues is to expand six SKUs of the 8-oz yogurt cup product line into one or two selected supermarket channel regions. It is important to note that this option is strongly advocated by the vice president of sales, Walter Bellini. The 8-oz cups represents almost 86% of Natureview Farms revenues and the segment is growing at an annual rate of 3% per year. In respect to customers, the 8-oz cups represent the most popular cup size, producing almost 74% of total category supermarket sales in U.S. dollars. This product is most commonly bought by women who describe the cup size as an easy to eat and healthy snack or lunch alternative and by people who are more educated and have a higher income. The streamlined distribution system in the supermarket channel allows for lower prices; a supermarket would charge $0.74 whereas a natural food store would charge $0.88 for the same cup.…
