Pauline Johnson Silhouette

In the poem Silhouette by Pauline Johnson, the use of imagery and persona help convey the tone and message behind the poem. First and foremost, the imagery that was present in the poem helped express the theme of loss and the tone of sadness and loneliness. I use examples of this in my media piece by showing the original piece and then translating that to a “silhouette” or shadow of what it used to be. Secondly, the persona of the poem is very important to the message of loss because Johnson frequently speaks about the chief and how he is etched to the land. He believes that he essentially cannot escape or deviate from the land that he is stuck spiritually to because he cannot accept the change that his other people have made. To reiterate,
