Questions:
11. Is it possible for one person to change the world? Why or why not?
I think it is possible for someone to change the world, but not alone. In the film that we watched “Pay it Forward” Trevor changed the world, with his pay it forward idea. I also know that Hitler changed the world, obviously not the type of “world changing” you would think of but he did change the world. But they both did not do it alone, Hitler had people helping him. And for Trevor, the people helped him by helping others. Therefore “one person” cannot change the world by themselves, but with the help of others “they” can change the world.
13. ‘You don’t need much to change the entire world for the better. You can start with the most ordinary ingredients. You can start with the world you’ve got.’ What could you do today to make the world you live in a better place?
My list of things that I could do to make the world a better place:
Give a smile to a random person, it could brighten their day.
Don’t say cruel things about others
Reduce, reuse, recycle.
Say a compliment to someone (ex you look nice, I like your hair, your shoes are really nice!)
Asking if they need help with something (Do you need some help with that? Or could I help you)
Respect people
Don’t judge other for who they are, what they wear, or what they do.
Don’t say cruel things about others, or to others.
Be generous
Say a simple hello.
Film discussion questions:
3. Mr. Simonet, on the first day of class, points out the following to his students: “What does the world expect from you? Nothing.” From your own experience is this true?
From my experience the statement that Mr. Simonet says (what does the world expect from you? Nothing)is entirely incorrect in my opinion. Here are a list of things I think that the most of the time expect from us:
They expect us the world expects us to have good grades
They expect us be extremely smart.
They expect us to
