Pearl was isolated and alienated in “The Scarlet Letter”. Pearl had been alienated by society because pearl was the sin of Hester and was shown as the demon child. This is said by Hester as pearl is a “Great Price”. This in which means pearl was a great price and now a prize that she loves no matter what the condition. Pearl and Hester have a bond mother and daughter that can't be broken and pearl was the sin of hester and the father. Next, Pearl was a huge outcast in puritan society in “The Scarlet Letter”.
It was said “Pearl was born and outcast...She had no right among christian infants.” This is showing that Pearl was put to shame or her being an outcast in a puritan society. “The Scarlet Letter” showed pearl as an existing but non existing character to show how she was the sin and outcash of Hester Prynne. Thus, Pearl was an outcast in the Puritan society for her life as a
whole.
Lastly, Pearl had been just an out of sorts role in “The Scarlet Letter” and was a “fake-ish” character. This is proven in a variety of ways by inferences and the book. In the book “The Scarlet Letter” it is pretty much shown that she is an imaginary person by how she is a representation of sin. Being put as a representation of sin by the quote “ was an imp of evil, emblem and product of sin”. This shows how Pearl was almost like a fake character and a product of sin amounts the Puritan society.
In conclusion, Pearl was one of the alienated character in “The Scarlet Letter”. Pearl is put as the most outcast characters. This is said in the book by multiple reasons which are put above because she is “ an evilish imp” and that she was “ A great price”.
