This aspiration did not come from a television show, or this big time motivational speaker, but from the people living a wall next me. My very own grandparents, aunts, uncle and even parents suffer from diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, thyroids, and just GRATUITOUS illness. On that summer day I made a choice to no longer sit back and watch as my family continues fall down well of bad health. With this career I want to show to my family that having bad health is a choice, being sick is a choice. It is my job to help them make better choices, to help them become healthier, to help them become happier.
Benjamin Franklin once said “By failing to PREPARE, you are preparing to fail.” So to prepare myself to become a successful Pediatric Nurse Advisor I must first wear the hats of all hats and graduate high school and soon after further my education at Columbus State University majoring in Nursing.
Four year later I will have my BSN, and shorty later have a job at hospital. During my four year in college I plan to AUGMENT my resume by interning at local hospitals and doctor offices. It is very important for me to become ENTAILED on campus, because it often times open up opportunities for networking which will later benefit towards my next phase in life. We all know the importance of having a humble spirit especially when seeking job opportunities. So I plan on pledging to Alpha Kappa Alpha. According to an article on fastweb “Many business believe both fraternities and sororities produce responsible members of society,” and not to mention my grade will remain afloat because most of them require GPA to become a
member.
I have always had a DEFERENTIAL for helping people. It comes FACILE to me. The freshman me never considered being a nurse. However, now that I am older and I see the importance in it, I cannot stop thinking about the day I get world's greatest smile from someone’s mother, grandmother, aunt or uncle, because I simply made the FEEL better.
I consider that type of interaction with anyone a blessing. Working in the field of medicine you must have a passionate heart or else you will hate it! Medicine is a very moral profession, because it seeks to help those who need it the most.
