The Harmony Day slogan “everybody belongs” was evident as members of the community came together to march the streets of Penrith early Wednesday afternoon. Many stalls were available, providing flyers and information about different cultures and support groups.
Penrith City Mayor, Mr John Thain spoke before the commencement of the walkathon after acknowledging the custodians of the land. “We are thrilled to introduce the walkathon to this year’s event and to recognise the strength of what diversity brings” Mr Thain told the crowd.
