An example found on page 136 in the story “The Seventh Man” states that the narrator had a choice that either he would die saving his best friend or just leave him there but, he thought about which scenario for too long and had to deal with himself being guilty for his friend dying. Furthermore, in the story Unbroken, three men Phil, Louie, and Mac are starving on a stranded two-man life raft and Phil has only little water left in his can and Mac asks for a sip of it and Phil had to make a decision on whether or not to give him the last of his water. His decision on not giving Mac water ended up on Mac dying much earlier than expected.
