The purpose of this paper is to define visual and performing arts in my personal experiences, discuss my experiences with the visual and performing arts as a creator, performer, and audience member, describe the value of studying the visual and performing arts. Indicate why humans create or participate in the visual and performing arts. In addition, identify how the visual and performing arts reflect or influence society. Visual and performing arts enrich individual lives in a various ways. Visual and Performing Arts Visual arts are work primarily visual in nature, such as, drawing, ceramics, painting, sculpture, printmaking, design, crafts, photography, video, filmmaking, and architecture. In addition, visual arts also include applied arts, such as industrial design, graphic design, fashion design, interior design, and decorative art. Performing arts are skills that require public performance before an audience, such as dance, drama, and music. Studies show that students exposed to the arts
