Person-Centered Therapy was developed by Carl Rogers, and focuses primarily on the empathetic and listen aspects of counseling, and not the modification of maladaptive behaviors. His belief is that the only values that need to be present in the therapeutic relationship to inspire change are; empathy, genuineness and congruence. Reality Therapy, on the other hand was developed by William Glasser, this approach’s main focus is to help clients gain more effective control over their life. This is done by having clients take an honest look at both what they want out of life and what they are doing to get it. I believe both of these approaches and their theoretical techniques work well with my personality and will help make me an effective
