are very quick and high in energy. Also, I picked the Doghouse Melody Piano.1 to play in the background of this second section because the piano resembles how my mind is still calm, but the beats represent the action that is taking place to get to the finish line. The ending continues with the calm piano because it describes my peaceful, accomplishing emotion at the end of my race. In the end, my musical composition represented the emotions I have when I race. The melody of in the background indicates the mentality I have going into a race, and the beats of other instruments represent my physical action. My passion for running is enormous and I wanted to create a musical composition that illustrates the pain, yet happiness I get from running.
Self-assessment: A strength in my musical composition was my transition of depicting my running story. The musical composition started off with a slow beat, then progressively increased in speed as the music went one. Another strength was my transition from Section A to Section B. Although it was a dramatic change, I progressively increased the intensity to make Section B not sound as harsh as it should be. A weakness that is shown in my musical composition would be the length of Section A.
I felt like it was longer and dragged on to the point of anticipation on what would happen next. However, this could have been improved if I shorten Section A and made it the same length as Section B. Another weakness that my musical composition portrayed was that the instruments were not evenly spread out, and some instruments lasted a longer time than others. For example, the Shine Bright Piano took up the almost the entire first section of one minute and eight seconds, while the Shaker only took up three minutes. In the end, my musical composition ended up a lot better than I expected. This was the first time I have ever used GarageBand and I thought it was remarkable. I will continue to use this audio software and create more musical
compositions.
