Throughout life, many individuals tend to struggle with venturing out of their comfort zone. Because once a person is use to doing things a particular way, then it becomes harder to switch it up. In my experiences, I've always tried to try new things, which allowed me to gain exposure from different atmospheres. In addition, said events allowed me to gather intel outside of my ethnicity. Ultimately, being versatile intrigued me to create opportunities for myself, that were stereotypically labeled by society as not being meant for me. In addition to, the following included me being involved in band.

Mostly because I didn't want to do freshman PE. Once I matured, I was able to appreciate band more. Even though, I quite two years earlier; I stayed hip by mentally practicing scales and rhythms because my parents couldn’t afford to buy me an actual instrument. Overall, playing band in high school was relatively successful because I learned how to play three additional instruments, which were the Xylophone, Tuba, and Cello. Also, I took Music Theory and learned how to compose. Along with, all the components that makes the band work. Ultimately, all of this prompted me to appreciate me role in the band. My middle school principal would allow me and my friends to have tournaments, which was during our study hall hours. The tourneys consisted of snacking, strategizing, and trash talking. We did this for about three years, up until our eighth grade graduation. After graduating Junior high, I began playing UNO at Belleville West. I played frequently in my first hour Biology class, which was with Mrs. Harris. It began to be an commodity to have my cards with my at all times.
