| |Explain why personal hygiene is important. |

| |Keeps the body and hair free from infections, allowing the skin, nail and hair to be kept in good condition. Infection |
| |comes from eating, drinking, coughing, sneezing, sweating and elimination of urine and excretion. |

| |Also it is important for a person’s self esteem as a high standard of hygiene makes a person feel good, being clean, |
| |presentable and comfortable. |

| |Bodily odours – This can leave a person feeling depressed due to smelling bad and could lead to isolation by society. |
