There are many different religions in our world and each entails a different type of commitment. Some have specific traditions when in the presence of a sacred item or temple, some pray to their God more often than others and some may attend church more regularly. Religion is important in establishing diversity in our country and in instilling morals in different collective groups. However, in the past there have been some questionable attempts at spreading the knowledge of religion. For example, the treatment of the indigenous people during the time of the residential schools in Canada. This was anything but compassionate and welcoming. Times have changed a lot since then though and now different religions seems to be more accepting of other’s beliefs. Through being accepting and understanding, it seems that religion improves our quality of life here in Canada. Although sometimes things may take a turn for the worse, overall, I believe that our society is better off with our many different belief
