Personal Learning Paper for Organization Behaviour
The course in organization behaviour helped me understand the impact of individual, group and structure within an organization and systematic way in which all these elements work within the organization and allows the predictability of the behaviour and help us move away from intuitive ways. Course also helped me to understand the fact that everyone amongst us has a “Beautiful Me” inside ourselves and the art of learning leadership and management traits without leaving one’s self personality. Although we have various tools like Mayer-Briggs type indicator (MBTI), Big Five factors and alike that makes us aware about our own shortcomings and strengths, like introvert-extrovert, sensing- intuiting, thinking- feeling, judging- perceiving etc. but there is no single right way to define the kind of personality fit which is “The most desirable” by people in the organization but at same time yes we do have certain traits of leadership which are desirable in the leaders and people do expect their leaders to be in possession of those characteristics. Having said that it’s only the blend of individuals own personality along with the shades of these leadership characteristics that makes one really desirable candidate for any organization.
So we should not try and change our personality altogether and try to pretend someone which we are not. If we are doing so we are not only killing that “unique me” in ourselves which in some cases may be our USP(Unique Selling Point) too, but also we are being more and more hypocritical (wearing many faces) which might have negative impacts on our personality altogether.
Course in organization behaviour helped me understand “why man behaves the way he does?”, the principle of perceptual selectivity i.e. “why I select one thing over other?” In real world we come across various scenarios where in people will tend to form perceptions about certain thing which may be good or bad and might even be contrary to reality. People always tend to
