Personal Life and Flower Arranging
Essay A Some people kick start a certain hobbies because they are beneficial to them. Some adopt hobbies just to keep themselves occupied and alert. To me, all my hobbies must first capture my passion. Among many of my hobbies, those that can stand out and create continued interests are singing, flower arranging and basketball. Singing – we all sing, don’t we? In the shower, in the car, when no one is listening, we sing. To those who possess a good voice or even just a passable voice, singing is a fun and rewarding hobby. Singing as a hobby implies performing in public and showcasing a person’s talent to the world. I, personally, like to sing. I feel that it is a good way to express my true feelings out and get rid of the negative emotions inside me at the same time. It is absolutely true to say that singing captures my passion. It is because my weary soul always needs to be replenished and music will help me accomplish this job perfectly. Moreover, singing can cure shyness; it gives a person the opportunity to believe in themselves and show others that I have a talent. I had gained a lot of confidence in my singing and won the love from others. Since then, I had been able to socialize better and to develop rapport with people around me. Therefore, I believe that a person should enjoy showcasing there talents to the world. For those who have potential in singing, do invest time and effort in it because it is really worth trying! Singing can help to boost a person’s confidence and teach them some socializing skills which do benefit them latter in the professional world. Another hobby of mine is flower arranging. It may be greeted with much derision because the prevailing opinion is that the hobby is more for the elderly. However, I feel that flower arranging provides me the chance to think in a creative way and develop my artistic potential. To me, turning a bunch of flower into a beautiful artwork is a source of pride and gratification; and, it indeed creates

My personality/temperament results showed me to be a Performer Artisan. Performers have the special ability to delight those around them with their warmth, their good humor, and their tendency to excel in music, comedy, and drama. They are exciting and full of fun and they have a great social interest in influencing others around them to lighten up and enjoy life. Performers are plentiful and make up over 10% of the population. Performers aren’t comfortable being alone and seek the company of others as much as possible. They are smooth, talkative, and witty, and are quick to make wisecracks and wordplay. They like to live in the fast lane and are lively and uninhibited. Their knack for enjoying life is good for the most…

I’ve also enjoyed dedicating part of every summer to improve my musical skills by attending various camps, including Longlake Camp for the Arts, Eastern U.S. Music Camp at Colgate University and Interlochen Camp for the Arts, where I was just invited to return on the basis of last summer’s performance. While I know that there may be others with comparable or better talent, my passion serves as the constant motivation for me in music as well as other aspects of my life. For example, being a dedicated Honor Roll student, taking weekly Temple classes and performing community service has been important and demanding as well. Managing these priorities has taught me a lot about tenacity, friendship and balance.…

Three words that best describe me are easy going, fun, and talkative. I have chosen these words because these are the things people usually tell me I am. The following beliefs are important to me friends, family, and pets. Five things that I find difficult are math, school, drama, losing someone close, and saying goodbye. I often worry about what’s going on in the world because it could be peaceful in Thunder Bay but in other cities people could be struggling. I am happiest when I am with my boyfriend just hanging out and watching television or when I am with my friends and family out at camp or having a family get together. My family background is very simple I have only ever lived in Thunder Bay. I have 2 brothers, a mom, a step dad, and a biological dad. My education in high school hasn’t been the greatest and I regret a lot of things in the past 3 years with my school. I am hoping to become a hair dresser and open my own hair salon in the future. The only work experience I have had is when I worked at Robin’s Donut’s on Frederica and James street. I worked up front as a cashier and stocked most of the merchandise. One of the hobbies that I spend most of my time doing is singing. I really love and enjoy singing. I started taking lessons 2 years ago and have stuck with it ever since. I also decided to take guitar lessons but I unfortunately gave up on it and sold my guitar during the…

In my budget project, I have put the life of a professional singer together. I chose to do this because the idea of being professional is a way people see you as a person, and also how they will act and treat you. Another reason I chose to be a professional singer is to make a lot of money, and get the car and house I have put in my budget project. A good reason that this life was put together is that I am completely comfortable with it. I am comfortable with it because, to be a good or even great singer means the more money and tours to take.…

This summer I read the story Flowers in the attic by V.C Andrew. It was a story of a very happy family that was struck with disaster when their husband and father dies in a car accident and they lose everything. Momma decides to seek help from her mother and father (very rich and old) who disowned her when she married her husband. Since she was disowned she decides to hide her four children from her father. He is on his death bed and is likely to die soon so she decides to put her kids Chris, Cathy, Cory, and Carrie in the attic of the mansion until her father dies and she inherits the money, with the help of her mother. She tells them that they will only be in the attic for a few days but as days pass so do the weeks then weeks turn into months and months into years.…

Singing in the choir, learning from the drummers and organ players I fell in love with the different grooves and sounds of different instruments. I joined percussion in junior high and with countless hours of practice and lots of tough love from Mr. Jones, my percussion instructor, I learned and practiced with about 20 instruments. The switch between instruments was almost like second nature earning me first chair in a class of about 40. Once in high school I began looking for a way to turn doing what I love into a career and my interest in music producing and engineering grew into a burning passion. Working with different artists and learning how to produce, mix and master vocals with various softwares, using different midi controllers, plugins etc has taught me many different ways to find sounds i like and turn them into art. Receiving recognition that thousands of human beings have taken the time out of their day to listen the art that you created is the best feelings in the world. Giving people something to relate to by painting a lyrical picture from a blank canvas is immortal. Henceforth after hours of online research I decided to try and take my skills and elevate them to a level where they are needed in society as a vital piece of the vastly growing music…

    My Interest in Music

My interest in music was well established at the age of 11 when I started to learn Harp. It all started one day during the music lesson in school, that I was impressed by this magnificent instrument and its reverberating, angelical sound. So I moved to first learn of the basic techniques and consequently deepen my study into the history and theory of Music, and afterwards joining a Harp Ensemble wanting to gain more experience playing the instrument. Since then, I got more opportunities to perform in front of an audience and motivating myself to continue to learn the techniques use to play harp. Among my most meaningful performances, I think the ‘Hong Kong Adventist Hospital Foundation Little Heroes Sharing The Love Concert’ has been the most worthy one because this concert in particular had the objective of raising funds to provide medical help to poor people in Africa, that cannot afford medications. In this occasion I felt the matter was not just about playing in concert but through the power of music I got to instrumentally help a cause. Besides that, at the age of 14, I began to learn the piano, and since strengthen my techniques at stroking the cords, the fluency of movement in my fingers and the expression I conveyed in the piece. The biggest challenge that I had to overcome was the fact that I was often compared to other students that were younger than me and more skilled than I was because of having learned the instrument at a younger age. Even so, I did not let this factor take me down or my passion for music because everyone has a different way to interpret a melody. I must say that practicing consistently everyday has been my winning card when I reached to further improve my technique. I did not let criticism get to my nerve but instead I empowered myself in front of my competitors and I think I have achieved a better perspective about music and how to use it. In three occasions, I was asked to compose three songs using the program Sibelius, which…
