Personal Narrative: A Day In Hawaii
On a humid, winter day in Hawaii, Mike decided to hit the road in his Infiniti qx60 with his friend Patrick. Patrick knew Mike well, because they play lacrosse together. Patrick had just moved to Hawaii. Pat is sixteen and Mike is eighteen years old. They went to a brand new theme park called Flyin Hawaiian very early in the morning, and tried to beat a record of going on 42 roller coasters in one day! They went to Screamin Splash first because that ride looked the most interesting. The line was long, but they were prepared. They’d bought Lines-less cards. Other people also bought lineless cards so they were in line for two to three minutes. Mike bought cotton candy for the wait. They precisely watched the first row go up and drop into the water. Splash! “Please put all your valuables in a locker,” said the announcer. Mike was just stuffing sweetness to his mouth at the time.
The two boys were inpatient to go on the ride. “ Line A, you may take the raft, and always remember to get wet,”said the announcer. Normally that’s not the rule, the rule is to stay safe. Pat and Mike took

“Again”? asked Pat. “Are you crazy? I lost my phone from that ride.” Pat wanted to go, but Mike lost interest. “Can I see your wet phone?” Felix asked. Then, all Mike pulled out was a phone-like piece of cardboard. “ You actually thought I didn’t have a lifeproof case?” On the other side of his pocket was an iPhone 5s in a green lifeproof case. “You see, I’m smart unlike you.” Says the one that was screaming as loud as possible.” “Fine, I’ll go on the ride again, and again, and again, and again.” The fast passes were a little bit of a waste of money because all Mike and Pat did was go on Screamin Splash. But, the fast passes were also useful because the lines were very long. Although Pat and Mike didn’t quite beat the record of going on 42 roller coasters in a day, they probably have beaten a record for going on Screaming

However, I quickly change my mind and leave the baseball bat inside the house. I hop into the back seat of the truck and am greeted by four large burly kids. “What’s up Matt?” says Ben who is sitting in the drivers seat. With music blasting, Ben takes off the parking brake and presses his foot down onto the gas pedal. Soon we are heading down dark winding roads as we listen to music from Captain Murphy, which contributes to our mischievous mood. Finally we arrive.…

After breakfast, the parents went out on the lake to have “adult time.” So my cousins and I decided to go riding back in the woods. Chelsea and I were doing wheelies on the four-wheelers. Wheelies are so fun; I get the feeling of butterflies in my stomach every time I do them. Jessica was riding her four-wheeler backwards. Johnathan was doing tricks on his dirt bike. We were doing all kinds of tricks and cool things. We even had races to see who could go the fastest. Then we found a spot in the dirt that was really wet. We saw that is was safe, so we started playing around in it. We did what most people call “mudding.” We all had a blast until Johnathan flooded his engine, and Chelsea started complaining about having mud all over her. So they decided to go home and let Jessica and I keep riding.…

I still remember exactly what I was feeling as I walked up to “Wild Fire”, the fifteen story ride that with my luck included a full loop, corkscrew, and high-speed spiral. It was the perfect day to be at an amusement park, with no clouds in the sky and the park in a busy chaos. I was with my family and two best friends as they were on a mission to complete every roller coaster in the park. I, on the other hand, was just hoping that I would enjoy the rides originally created for ten year olds. Half way in our journey through Silver Dollar City, I had managed to skip nearly all the rides my family rode, including a mini roller coaster that still did a wonderful job of scaring me just by watching the coaster crawl up the…

dashes inside her house and when she comes back out she has a little box of Milk Duds. She offers one to me and I gratefully accept. When we finally get to the Carnival, almost all the excitement of coming here in previous years came flooding back. Lizzie squealed and took off towards the ticket booth. After she had bought more tickets than I care to say, we gazed at all the rides that were so familiar. After a long pondering, Lizzie finally decided which one to go on first. She chose the Yo Yo which made me sick afterwards because it goes around in circles while lifting you up and down. It was so much fun being able to spend a whole day with my best friend. When we were in line for the ride called Space Alien, I turned around to see the belt buckle of the tallest man I had ever seen. He had a scraggly beard and wore all black. I also recognized him as one of the men my Dad said were the Blue Willows.…

Standing there surrounded in the fluffy, white layer of snow, arms at my side, and legs frozen in excitement. My thick blue and gray sweatshirt clinging to my skin feeling as if it was a mere t-shirt, it felt like a little baby clinging to his mother. It had been a very relaxed, humorous and joyful night at the Everett mall theaters. We had just finished watching the movie Ride Along, featuring Kevin Hart and Ice Cube. My friends and I were all stuffed up to our heads with popcorn, creamy butter, and different assortments of soda pops. In the cool, electrifying night air, the essence of popcorn was overwhelming where the group of friends stood chit-chatting in a circle. The pitter-patter of the snow was picking up at a breakneck pace. Despite all of this excitement, I only had one thought, to get to my Ithaca safe. To get home safe.…
