This all came after a tearful confession that college was hard and I wasn’t doing anywhere near as well as I had in my mind I should be. I was a straight A student in high school, I was an academic all stater, I had the highest ACT score in my high school. Being smart had been my “thing”. Now, in college, my grades were subpar. I was spending hours studying to get less than stellar grades on tests. I made note cards and attended study groups, my grades were seeing an uptrend, but they were nowhere near where I envisioned my grades being. It’s ability to be the language of the living world is absolutely fascinating. It was a no brainer what my major would be coming to the University of Oklahoma. When Dr. Wellborn sent out the information about the biological station, I immediately told my dad about it. He hears all my ideas as soon as I get them, he smiled, but shook his head, “I don’t know that financially we can do that, but you can see what happens.” I spent most of my summers doing hands on learning academies. I took part in the chemistry camp offered at OU, an outdoors learning experience at Connors was the main happening of two of my summers, I attended a history camp another summer from USAO. Some of my favorite learning experiences happened during these times. I know more about snakes, first aid, science fairs, and World War two because of these chances I got to further my
