2. Aggravated assault
In 1992, I was out and about riding around in the city and then I meet a longtime friend of mine. I needed some money and needed a way to get around. I had a car and he was a booster. So, I decided that I would take

At a young age I made the decision to hold up a store. With much more of my life to live, that day could have been the last. My consequences were severe for someone my age with no priors. I was sentenced to 3 years probation and 4 months in the Gilliam. I served my time and was rewarded for good behavior while I was in…
My current event is about a 15-year-old boy named Tristan Potts from Missouri, who pleaded guilty in December for murdering his sister. At the time Tristan was 13 years old. The little girl body was found in front of their adoptive parent’s yard. The first responders arrived to the scene in October, 2015. Tristan ran to the woods as his sister suffered from gun shot wounds to her head and right shoulder. Later on, Tristan was found near a shopping building behind the house. Together with, the intent to set the house on fire. A psychologist who interviewed Tristan said that he appeared…
Terryl’s abusive childhood contributes to the understanding of why she chose her career path in advocacy. Terryl was raised in a tough neighborhood where she was beaten and mistreated by her stepfather multiples times. One of the memories that lead to her career choice was when her stepfather had a .357 magnum in his hand and said to her “I’m going to blow your mother’s fucking head off” (49). Her stepfather constantly mistreated her mother yet her mother continued to be with him but every night before bed Terryl “begged God to help her mother leave her dad” because she knew her mother deserved better. Terryl did not have anyone to speak for her nor did her mother, they did not have anyone to encourage them to get away from her step dad and…

My grandmother asked me to go get some fruit from the food and vegetable section. I was short and asked if one of the store employees to help me reach the bananas and apples. A woman was walking by and wasn’t paying attention to where she was going and hit me with her shopping cart. My grandmother heard all the commotion and ran over to me to see if I was ok. The woman who hit me said that I was running around the aisle and hit her. The store employee told my grandmother that the woman wasn’t telling the truth about the incident. The woman demanded to see the store manager. She told the store manager her version of the event and demanded that my grandmother and I be removed from the store. The store manage then heard my and the employee’s…
My family was very disliked in Andover, and over time he married a woman who did not think that he was worthy of marrying her. Then it happened, they accused him. He was brought to trial as an accused man. They accused him for being a witch because he dabbled in fortune telling when he was a young man. They ended up accusing me, too. It is time for trial.…
In 2006 I became a victim of a robbery. I was walking into a store that was in an unfamiliar area, while walking towards the store in the daytime a guy snatched my purse. Intimate partner abuse is a problem that extends across all social, economic, racial and land boundaries. The perception of the event is determining how Jill will cope. Stage B is where we get down to the problem and why the client is seeking help, and this is the most import of all of the stages. “Crisis counselors explore those reasons with the clients and to help them understand why they may be enduring the abuse” (Kanel, K 2014p 228). Jill is her to get help for an abused wife. Jill’s perception of the event is she is tired of dealing with the abuse, and she needs help coping with her abusive husband. I will offer Jill supportive comments like “this is a difficult situation, and I don't take it lightly. I can only imagine the pain you are feeling. I' m so sorry this happened to you” (Kanel, K 2014 p 77). Jill domestic violence is the leading…
The majority of victims of intimate partner abuse are women, and they are assaulted by someone who is a former or current spouse, cohabiting partner (opposite or same-sex), date, or boyfriend or girlfriend. When the victim is female, 93.4 percent of the time the offender is male, and when the victim is male, 85.9 percent of the time the perpetrator is male (Gosselin 2000). Studies focusing on the adult male batterer have identified characteristics and personality risk-factors that characterize this type of abuser, but these factors can also be applied to female perpetrators, abusers in gay and lesbian relationships, and elder and child abuse situations. These characteristics, behaviors, and tactics of the offender of intimate partner domestic violence can include controlling behaviors (i.e., attempts to control the victim's time, dress, and behavior), fear and intimidation, manipulation, excessive rule-making, and isolation.…
Four months later my father borrowed some money from his friend, and we opened our small business where we were selling leather jackets just to make some kind of money to eat and pay the rent. Nine months later, my father tried to take us to school, but they did not accept us because we did not…
I would like to share my first experience with a bully; this event helped make me the man I am today. It also shaped my thoughts on my career choices. This one event led me to learn martial arts and with this discipline I became a more mature person. I first experienced bullying in daycare. Another child would often throw toys at me or hit me on the head when I was minding my own business. One day I decided to stand up for myself, and when he tried to hit me I threw a hotdog at him. He pushed me to the ground and started to hit me. All the other kids were laughing at me because I had gotten beat up by a younger child. Mrs. Kim, the owner of the daycare came over and took us both to her office. When we got there she talked…
