“Pardon me, but how old is your oldest daughter?” Ben Kamm pointed to me.
“She is a teenager,” my dad shot back.
“Well that’s great. May I have your blessing for her to join the Partisans?” he asked with great hope.
“What do they do?” my mom asked frantically.
“They fight and sabotage against the Nazis,” Ben whispered.

There was even worst news. They started to exterminate and kill them off. It was a very horrid sight to see. Bodies laying on the floor that once hoped for their sanity and freedom back.
The Jews in the safe factory started to lose hope in freedom. Some wanted to be with their god instead of living on Earth. They often tried to commit suicide.
“Yo are the devil!” an older man shouted at me. “You’re lying about hope. There is no hope in dying. Ust leave us here to die.”
“I’m sorry sir you feel that way, but you have no choice but to follow me and let us help you,” I protested.
Everything was going great until our assistant partisan was found, shot, and killed. Ben was trying to help an elderly woman, when a Polish soldier attack them from behind and shot him and her in the head. It was very horrible way for him to go. He was so devoted to helping and saving lives, but his was taken so early.
We had to move on and let the past be the past. We mourned for a while. Since Ben was gone, and I had to step up and take on an even bigger responsibility. I had to start recruiting for partisans to fill in the empty spots. We eventually helped more people than I thought . It felt so good to know that I was saving
