Presently, with Jim Crow being in charge things have changed for the worse. Up here in New York I have actually had the chance to feel like a normal human and not an animal. We have been introduced to fresh, innovative music styles, eg Blues, Swing, and Funk, and even giving a chance to arrogate fame. Contemporary artists have been popping up in copious amounts, exhibiting art styles never seen before and assisting in giving minorities a chance to be heard. people here have been excessively interested in our culture and customs, they have started to change them and make them their own. The blacks and latinos here are not as underprivileged and shanty as those back home, we have become articulate, accomplished, vivacious people thriving in our communities and as a whole.
To conclude, I do feel that we have been blessed to have the opportunity to live in a place like this, and have chances to become who we truly are. We are slowly coming up in the world and advancing day by day. The things that we have been through should not hold us back and keep us in the past. I would hopefully like to see you and the rest of our family make the decision to move here and live joyful, productive
