I decided to continue in the band at Watkins Middle school. The first instrument I attempted was the clarinet and trumpet. Although I enjoyed the clarinet, the trumpet would be my first musical love. Not only did the discovery of instruments drive me to stay with music, but our directors did too. Adam Lynskey changed my life. Lynskey was driven and passionate about the music all of his students played for anyone. Someone reading this might be like wow what a cliched person. Because he wants to go into psyc.: however, I want to go into music therapy. The field draws from my two loves music and psychology. My listening skills have been improving so much since sophomore year. People have come to me just to talk and let things they have built up in them out. I have helped people deal with depression and other multitudes of mental disorders. The aforementioned depression is a very common thing people have come to me to talk about. I am one to believe that you can’t look a person the same once you know the real them. An example of this is my best friend Sarah Abram who I’ve known for a very long time.
