This last semester has been very different from my overall college experience. When they said you have to have the heart to do nursing I always thought I did. After being overwhelmed and developing critical thinking skills I think I have acquired just a taste of what I need. I have created a little family with my fellow nursing students. We all strive to see the other succeed and I could not ask for a better group. I thought that coming into nursing school that I would have everything covered but not realizing that there was a lot of underlying details that I was missing.     I was hospitalized for three weeks at Seattle Children’s after enduring emergency surgery to remove a rare tumor in my large intestine. What I figured was random stomach pain was life threatening. Since I have endured so much in my life, it is not easy for me to be emotional. When I found out that I needed surgery in a mere few hours I did not know how to process my emotions.
