With a father who never finished middle school, I know what it looks like to be limited in your life. Sometimes, I know he’s miserable. He wishes his life turned out differently, and it only motivates me more to further my education. My parents had different circumstances in Suriname. They came to America to ensure my success, and I will continue to strive to make sure I succeed. My mother went to nursing school in Suriname, and she is now the self-sustaining breadwinner of a family of five. I commend her for never giving up, and she only motivated me to make sure I go the extra mile to have a stable future.
