On our way to the final game I was scoring goals left and right to help lead my team to the championship. That day we were playing phenomenally as a team and it looked as if nobody was going to be able to stop us. The one reason why my team and I played so well together was because we were all best friends. We were a team both on and off the field. Our team was strong physically, technically, and everyone was mentally tough except for me.
In the tournament there weren’t really many teams that pushed me to my limit. That was until the final game.
In the final game we came out strong. We scored a goal in the first four minutes. Then the other team was able to strike back and put one goal in the net. After this for the rest of the game the opposing defence stayed on me. They did everything they could to get in my head. They pulled my jersey, tripped me, double teamed me, and played physically to ensure it wouldn’t be easy for me to score. Each and every time the defence fouled me the ref never called it.
There was three minutes left in the game. By this time I was physically frustrated and began to tell the ref to open his eyes. This just made the ref less apt to make calls in our favor. With one minute left my teammate made a superb pass in between two defenders. I …show more content…
It helped me off the field whenever things weren’t going according to plan. It taught me that even though things may not be going great at the moment that doesn’t mean something meaningful can’t be taken from the situation. After the championship game I began to take the positives out of everything. I began to appreciate all of the positive outcomes in life and turned the negatives into positives by learning from them. Lastly, it showed me that it doesn’t matter how many times I get knocked down, but it matters how many times I am willing to get back up and
