It was a bright sunny Wednesday afternoon and I was walking towards my car. I got out of class early and was heading home to get myself ready to spend time with my bright and intelligent students. Sometimes when I get out of class my body feels overwhelmed and tired. Perhaps it feels this way because of all the things that are going on in my life like family, friendship, relationship, community service, and homework assignments. I feel like I am very busy that I often do not have time for myself. However when I arrived to El Jardin that quickly changes. The students that I work with on Wednesday fill my life with positive attitude and energy that I often forget about the worries and stress that I encounter during the day. I learned a lesson all the way back in first grade, and that lesson has stuck with me ever since. I was coming in from recess, and I was talking to a friend of mine off to my left. Unfortunately, I was not watching where I was going. I kept barely taking glances of what was in front of me, and that was a huge mistake. My APUSH class was perhaps my favorite class my junior year despite it having been so rigorous and time demanding. I really enjoyed the material and although it was a large amount of work that was required, I still never found myself not finishing everything. It is for that reason that I really value this notebook. I did not fail to miss a single day of doing homework in the class and really managed to fit a whole year's worth of vocabulary in one single notebook. Failure is the state of not meeting an objective, and is normal for people to face throughout there life. I can speak on experience an event that had happened this past summer. After finals when my school had sent out final report cards, it was sad to see that my final average in my US History course did not meet the requirements to continue to the next grade. From there I had two options: to go to summer school and pass so that I may continue school at the academy or transfer schools and repeat my junior year of high school. Before this year I was always dead set on being a high school history teacher and thought that I never wanted to teach anything else. During the fall semester I was placed in a sixth grade class for my observation hours and at first I was kind of upset about it. When I first arrived to Richmond Early College High School, I anticipated an academic career characterized by hard work, nightly homework assignments, and incredible doses of stress that a middle school classroom could not synthesize.
