Personal Narrative: My Leprechaun
When I was a baby leprechaun older leprechauns always asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. They expected me to want to guard pots of gold, organize potlucks, or even be a stay at home leprechaun. However, all I’ve ever wanted to do was be an adventurer. Most grown-ups would sigh when I told them this or mumble under their breath. I never really understood why, what was the matter with wanting more than this life as an ordinary field leprechaun? Finally when I was 17 my mother encouraged me to leave the field and find my life elsewhere. She gave me a pair of adult leprechaun shoes. The were solid black, ended in a point, and had shiny buckles. She also gave me a kiss and a message. She told me that,” Sometimes the most ordinary roles have the …show more content…

The journey across the field was not easy. The crows frightened me the most because I have heard many tales at potlucks about crows eating little leprechauns like me. I finally made it, and standing in front of me was a rather large contraption. I always assumed it was a hill, but now I knew it wasn’t. It was square, made of wood, and had steps leading to a red door. I realized without a doubt that it was a human house. I found a crevice that I could squeeze into. Us leprechauns are good at that sort of thing. The crevice led into a slightly larger opening perfect for a leprechaun. I slept for a long time, tired from my long journey across the field. When I finally woke up I was hungry and decided to explore. At the end of the passageway was a huge room. There was rows of shelves filled with shoes. I realized I hit the gold pot, this was a shoemaker’s house. I loved making shoes! I forgot my hunger and set to work finishing a pair of shoes on the floor. During the days I watched the family and customers in the

He lived in the hospital on an artificial ventilation for 97 days and later he had to continue physical therapy for at least ten years as he was completely paralyzed. My parents and my brother devoted their few years completely for his treatment. Today, my brother is a successful engineer working in the bay area. My best Pecan Fest experience was last year. I rode the Zipper with Austen and Hayden for most of the time. My friends and I played all weekend and had fun. We bought lots of confetti eggs. They were very useful when we used them on other people. We also bought silly string and sprayed lots of people. We went on the Zipper at least 10 times. I went on the MI twice. I went on the Pharos Fury a couple times. I ran around the yard with my friends and we rode on lots of rides. I helped my mom with her booth and I got a lot of people to play the game. I also watched my little brother perform on stage. After that I ate some food and then went one the Zipper. I felt so sick after. I got some water and I went home. The next day we went back to the…

I was a camp counselor at Camp Wabikon ‒ a co-ed overnight summer camp located in Temagami, Ontario for children who are 6-15 years of age. Along with teaching Red Cross swimming and lifesaving and Tennis, I was my cabin's 'parent' for six weeks. Therefore, I was present with the children at all times. In essence, I was the leader of my cabin's the physical, social and mental development. The main things I learned were the importance of time management and organization , as I had to plan lessons for swimming and Tennis while taking care of my cabin; conflict resolution between campers; and the ability to plan and foresee events (I had to plan camp-wide events and activities for all campers).…

It was a Tuesday in February when it first happened. Unexpectantly waking up in the morning, realizing that the bottle of pills taken the previous night did not do what the Internet said they would. When you are someone like me, actions and thoughts like this occur on a daily basis. Nobody wants to live this way, constantly dreading each day and hoping the next will bring a stable supply of neurotransmitters like serotonin or dopamine. These chemicals in the brain, when in excess or in insufficient amount, cause depression. As a person with dysthymia (Eeyore Depression), everyday life is a challenge; simple tasks become strenuous, thoughts become askew from random triggers, and being understood by others is a rarity.…

One of the main reason I’m interested in Eau Claire is because they have Actuarial Science classes and that is what I’m considering going into. On my college tour I met with Herschel Day and was very impressed with the curriculum and what Eau Claire has to offer. An aspect I like about Eau Claire is the small class sizes of about 27. I also like the campus atmosphere and the layout because it isn’t spread out and it is generally centralized. This was nice because it created its own community feeling that is hard to find.…

Growing up I thought that our humble and modest life style was a normal life. However, it was in junior high school that I was rudely awakened to a cruel reality; my classmates made fun of me. I was the ugly duckling always sporting last season’s hand-me-downs. I seldom had money for class field trips and when I did attend a trip I had no spending money like everyone else seemed to have. At the end of the day, however, having money and things didn’t matter to me. Mother managed to keep us together and that’s what mattered most. I will always remember my mothers words; “don’t ever let anyone tell you what you can or can’t do, if you have a dream follow it until you fulfill it,” she said.…

In March 2011, I took a few days of classes and received my hunting education certification. Looking back, the actual class time is just a blur of what not to do, but I was reminded of them when I took drivers education last December, with the what not to do teachings. I also remember being very nervous about the test, but having a great feeling when I learned I passed. That October, I remember being immensely excited to go on my first hunt. The night before my dad and I left, I had a parent teacher conference and I remember getting some strange looks in the parking lot because we had a trailer loaded with tents, four wheelers, chairs, and a bunch of other stuff…
