Personal Narrative: My Life Beyond High School

My life beyond high school is not exactly clear but is steadily approaching. Even though I am only three years into my high school career, I still want to look toward the future and decide exactly where I am going next. I am currently planning to attend college for a minimum of four years, preferably in the field of accounting. Currently, I am looking toward James Madison University for my education. I have made my decision to become an accountant due to my desire to work with numbers and to manage money in order to help both myself and others. I haven’t experienced much in the field of accounting, but through reading books on accounting and listening to family friends in which are accounts, I would like to learn more and make it my career
choice. Currently, I am enrolled in a high school level accounting class in order to gain more experience in the field. If my goal of becoming an accountant isn’t successful I plan on working in the government as an Intelligence Analyst. As a government Analyst, I would gather data through government and civilian satellites, photographs, and other sources in order to calculate certain procedures requested by other departments such as the Department of Justice or the Department of Defense.
