Personal Narrative: My Old High School Soccer Team
Last year, it was my first year when I work in the female soccer team from my old high school. This was a soccer team where I was a goalkeeper trainer. This team was the high school soccer team representing the local High school. The purpose for our team was to win all the games against other schools, another of our goals was to have fun and to stay active; my personal goal was to train the goalkeepers the best I can and make them better soccer players. The best reward we all get was the feeling of been the winning team, the feeling that we all get after realizing how hard work has paid off. That is always the best feeling, to win games. The best reward I get personally is just to know that I trained the goalkeeper the right way, and they had …show more content…
As a coach, we have to explain and make them understand that they need to work as a team, all together, not for its personal convenience but for the team and the rest of their teammates. Also it works to get the girls together and see who is having some type of issue and finally getting the team and have a conversation about the team, rules and goals. Leave the problems behind and work together. My engagement to this team was my hundred percent, because it was my first year as a coach and I wanted to do really good on my part. I wanted to demonstrate I can be a good coach and a good leader for the girls. The girls were also engaged with the team, they wanted to win and also demonstrate their skills. Everybody wanted to put the effort to make a better soccer team. The communication with the team was really good, we have to meet every day after school, sometimes I had classes and I was not able to go, but they always told me what they did and explain what they did for training. Every day after each practice we discuss what was done and what we could do to improve. The communication was the priority in the team. At the end of the season we evaluate the team,

It had been a long and tough game. The sun was beating down on us and we were all tired when all of a sudden the game’s time limit ran out. We were all tense because no one knew the score. The ref said that the game was tied. We all exhaled. We hadn't even realized we were holding our breaths. That meant we all had to do PKs (Penalty kicks) until one team won.…

My first year of storm soccer began in the 6th grade. I was nervous to start my first competitive soccer season. The thing that helped me out the most was that I knew we had a new coach in the program so we all were starting new. The first day of practice he talked to us and we all got to become closer by talking about ourselves and why we are playing the game of soccer.…

When I was ten years old I tried out for my local travel soccer team. I did not expect to make it, but by some stroke of luck I did. I started playing and it was not what I was expecting. In the past I averaged a hat trick every game, but travel soccer was a lot different. I started playing defense, but that might be an overstatement, because I did not get a whole lot of minutes. I knew that if I wanted to play more I was going to have to put in more work outside of practice. I started practicing everyday switching from running, to foot skills, to agility training. I probably spent more time complaining about it and there were a few time that my parents had to push me to practice, but I knew that I had to put in the work.…

Soccer, the sport I started playing when I was four years old. After almost 14 years of playing the sport I loved, we were playing Ocala Vanguard in the District tournament for my high school soccer team, Leesburg; if we lost it would be game over for me and my 15 other senior teammates. We knew we had to play strong just to have a chance against them, and oh what a game it was.…

Station Camp was five yards from the end zone when our defense flattened the running back, sending the football to the hands of the tackler. Our defense scored on that play to win the game 26-20 in overtime. The tumultuous crowd became so loud, we couldn't hear each other on the field; but truthfully, we did not need to speak. Who we were spoke so loudly that we did not need to hear each other. Numerous predictions claimed we should have lost that game alongside our already fearful fans. After losing nineteen talented starters in the class above us, an immense void was left to fill by few seniors. So why did we keep playing? The answer is that the visceral integrity ingrained within us would never allow us cease believing in ourselves and let adversity control the outcome of the game.…

It’s game day, and the first time in twenty-three years that we might be able to defeat out school rivals, Turpin. But something didn’t feel like it should, after all it was the biggest day our team’s season. We had immense confidence in ourselves, being the higher raked state team, we expected to win this game then make a large tournament run. Little did we know that the rest of our season relied heavily on this game. Winning or losing this game would not end our season physically, but would emotionally ruin us, ultimately ending our season. The game began with a pleasant, almost soothing blow of the whistle and ended with the blood-curtailing screech of the referee’s dagger, sending shivers down my spin. The roar of our crowd stopped and…

Soccer is a huge part of my life, and a big part of a soccer team is the coach. The coach must make an impact on their players in order to make the players better. The best coaches will stay with you forever even if they are not your coach anymore. When I was younger and throughout middle school I only had one soccer coach my entire life. The coach I had for my entire life was my father, so getting a brand new coach during my first year of high school was quite scary. I had always been extremely close to my coach, obviously because he was my father, and getting another one that I may not be close to made me nervous. My father knew how I played better that anyone, and he also knew my strengths and weaknesses. Dad had a straightforward view of…

I always had a love for soccer, so when I found out about the video game version of soccer, FIFA, it was amazing. FIFA is a real-world soccer based game including all the top players in a majority of countries. To me, however, it was more than that. It was like actually being on the field next to my favorite players and competing for the world cup. I would build my own team and go into battle. I’m a competitive person by nature, so there was no room for error. My team started well, made it past the first round in a breeze, nothing new. Next came the round of 16, my first real challenge. I went a goal down in the first six minutes but tied it up right before halftime. After halftime, I went on a rampage and won 4-1. Next round was the quarterfinals. I played an opponent whose team was far better than mine, but I had more skill and finished him 3-1. In the semis, I had a player injured and had to sub him out. It was terrible, he was the centerpiece of the defense, and I ended up being down 2-0 at halftime. However, I pulled through and tied it just before the 90th minute. The game went into overtime and I scored a penalty to put my team through to the final. It was time for the final, the most important of all. A…

Well, I had a nice weekend. I got to see my dad and grandparents for the first time since July, and I had lots of fun. They came to my soccer game on Saturday, and it was a good one. To start the game we came storming out of the gates, and scored a goal. Kaden hit it off of a cross from Jacob, and just squeezed it in the corner of the goal. After about fifteen minutes, they knocked one in off of a corner. Our coach was not happy about that, because the ball bounced twice inside the six, and we had worked on going for the ball, not letting it bounce. At the end of the half, they knocked another one in, again off of a corner. Coach was even more disappointed, because it was the same situation with the ball bouncing twice. At half, we talked it…

Starting soccer when I was only five years old was challenging because of my October birthday I had to play with all the six year olds. My parents had put me in soccer because I was a young boy filled with too much energy. After playing soccer for about a year I decided I wanted to do more, I loved the sport. I started playing club soccer when I was 7 years old, playing for under the wing of Charley Amblo. This was a training team only, it was not till I was nine that I was started playing for a travel team. This was the beginning of where I learned my leadership, time management, and teamwork dynamics.…
