As a Facility Administrator, I have had the opportunity to develop and maintain effective relationships
with elected officers, civic and public officials, and various community groups. Developing effective relationship is a requirement when acting as a liaison between the School Board, the Ministry of Education, self-governance groups, and community associations.
With over 5 years of facilitation of various interest groups I have the unique experience of understanding the nuances and etiquettes between the groups. During the early consultation phases with WDFN, our biggest challenge was gaining trust and allowing the Elders to guide the meeting, which differs greatly from the traditional forum where the facilitator driving the meeting. Crucial takeaways from our community consultations is understanding why there may be apprehension for the First Nation’s communities to distrust institutions.
At Research Services, my primary focus was on unit-related Human Resource administration; such as, coordinating and supporting immigration and visa documentation for visiting professors, drafting offer letters, coordinating job postings, assisting with staff with disability claims, and developing and maintaining a record system for training and other relevant contractual information. I take pride in developing and managing capital and operational budgets and expenditures, ensuring all elements stay within the confines of the budget.
I am a highly productive and pragmatic self-starter with the ability to manage multiple complex and diverse tasks simultaneously. As an administrator, I routinely prepare reports and synopsis briefs for internal and external review, collect and distribute data, develop and maintain operational and capital budgets, and provides support to project development and implementation. My communication skills are excellent, a requirement for special interest group engagements and developing documentation.
