the completion of a major speech goal. I can’t wait to experience that feeling with the added bonus of knowing that until they graduate, I’ll be able to watch them continue to progress each passing day.
Looking back to the past and present discussion posts I notice a theme of love and extraordinary kindness.
Without the constant unconditionally support and love from my cousin, I do not believe I would be able to turn my ideal scenario from above into a reality. He among a few others have been my strength when I am weak, my logic when I am without reason, and my focus when I’m scattered. I want to be that for my students. To emotionally hold their hand through their difficult journey and provide them the tools they need to succeed every day for the rest of their lives. I want to be as influential and invaluable to my student as my cousin is for me. In regards to the present discussion post, I admire the man’s frame of mind towards his selfless act. He felt that it was the “normal thing to do”. I want to create and foster that same type of attitude in my classroom. I want my students to understand and practice selflessness. Children are known to do as they see. I will strive to make myself a role model of unconditional kindness and generosity. Maybe then, years from now, I’ll read an article very similar to this one and recognize one of my students’ name. I’m ecstatic about the future ahead of
me.
