One morning I woke up to the loud beeping sound of my alarm,so I got ready grabbed my bag,I packed the night before and rushed out to the car. We were going to my first concert and I was so excited! Jimmy Buffett was going to be performing. We were pulling out of the driveway to begin our long journey to Indianapolis! We were going to the concert with some of our friends and family, but we weren’t driving them to Indianapolis because they already lived there. The car ride to Indianapolis was so hot and boring, there was nothing to do! Then we finally arrived in Indianapolis!
When we got to Indianapolis we went tailgating for the rest of the time until the concert started. My dad and his friend Brett grilled hamburgers, bratwurst, and hotdogs, and they smelled so good! While my dad and his friend were grilling me, my mom, my sister Emily, and my moms friend Shannon helped set up all the chairs,

After everyone was dressed up me and my family and our friends went around the tailgating site and we played games and took photos. After we're done playing games it was almost time to go to the Jimmy Buffet concert!
To get to the stadium for the Jimmy Buffet concert all we had to do was walk down the road because the stadium wasn’t that far. “Since we still have a few minutes until the concert starts let’s go get a good spot,” mom suggested “Yeah let’s go,” everybody yelled over the crowd. We found a good spot and laid down our blankets. Then the concert had finally started when we were waiting in line for food and drinks. After we got our food and drinks we rushed up to our spot. The music was so loud we could hear Jimmy Buffet

It was a crisp cold fall day at Lambeau field. I could see everything that was happening the whole entire time. The field was as green as a tree in the middle of Summer. The cold wind was whistling in my ear. The smell the hot dogs, burgers, and turf from the field filled my nose as the game begin. All I could hear were people cheering on the Packers and the jumbotron blaring, “Go pack go!” I could see the running back Eddie Lacy drive the ball into the end zone and everyone went wild. A mix people cheering and screaming filled my ears. After the opposing team returned the ball everyone started cheering, “Defense, defense, defense!” The watched the ball get intercepted and run down the field for another touchdown! The crowd roared and I got…

Abandon Ship! On one fatal day the USS Indianapolis took its final curtain call. The battleship sank in a matter of 12 minutes, killing 880 men and scaring 317 for the rest of their years. These men spent 110 hours in the water hopelessly waiting for someone to rescue them from their worst nightmare. The haunting thought of just how grotesquely many of the men died hides in the minds of many. While the event cannot be overturned and the deaths cannot be rewritten, one may wonder what courses of action could have been taken to avoid such a tragic event. Knowing why these men died could quench the need for such answers.…

This summer I had the opportunity to visit New York City and was able to tour campus. As soon as I stepped foot on the grounds I felt at home. The quiet campus seemed like a great escape from the bustling city. All of the students I met seemed very welcoming and willing to help out new students. I've grown up in Oklahoma City and realize that moving to New York will be a big adjustment. Barnard provides the support I will need to become comfortable in this new environment. I also value how hard Barnard works to support all the women that attend. The opportunities and doors they have opened for all graduates is inspirational. I want to attend a college that is dedicated to their students. A college where women support each other instead of tearing…

We were almost through the state of North Carolina as we traveled on Interstate 95. It was rush hour and you could tell everyone was antsy and excited to get home. Cars traveled at 80 miles per hour, and some were even traveling faster than that. I could now see why it was ranked the fifth worst highway in North America. Cars were weaving in and out of traffic at over 90 miles per hour. Traffic was getting heavy. Listening to the radio, my dad and I sang along to a familiar song we both knew, “Yeah” by Usher. “Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!”, we both sang while he drove. My dad always loved this song, so we had the radio turned almost all the way up. The song ended and we turned the radio down. We had already been on the road for ten hours so we were beginning to get a little tired. It was almost 5:00 in the evening and we did not eat lunch, so we were both getting hungry as well. “Where do you want to stop for dinner?”, I asked him. My dad looked at the food signs next to the highway as I looked up places on my phone where we could grab a bite. Just as I was about to name off a few places where we could go, my phone flew out of my hand and my head jolted forward.…

This year the experience was much more different for me because it was a month into me moving on campus and I was beginning to feel a little homesick. I invited my mom to join me in the festivities and, as usual, we had an awesome time. Before we sat down to eat, we walked around looking at stands that were set up by various sororities, frats, and organizations. While eating we watched the mini parade that featured the UAM band, cheerleaders, and football team. Also, we enjoyed watching the excitement on the little kids faces, when getting their faces painted and getting a balloon made of their favorite characters. Later, we joined everyone to watch the Boll Weevil host the Arkansas Tech. Sadly, they were defeated by Arkansas tech,…
