We almost lost control.
It was a rainy, humid summer afternoon in Disney’s Magic Kingdom. We were exhausted from all the walking we had done and thus decided to rest before heading to our next attraction. We sat on a bench near a food kiosk, watching the multitude of people come and go. Thereafter, my troublesome brother and I had gone to buy a churro and a water. “No,” she replied, with concern in her voice. At that moment, I felt as if my whole world had crumbled. Had my brother gotten lost? Was I foolish enough to assume that he found his way back to my parents? Alarmed by the situation, my mom scolded me for losing sight of him. We began looking through the crowds hoping he would appear. I stood still for a moment, trying to wrap my head around the worrisome circumstances. Time became more valuable. “Find your brother!” yelled my mom in an aggressive yet desperate tone. All hope was not yet lost.
We decided to inform my dad, who had left before I had returned with my food and drink. Desperately I asked, “Is Edward with you?”. His response of “yes” brought my mom and I great relief. This entire time we had thought that my brother was lost, but actually had gone with my dad. As we spotted them standing by the castle among the crowd of people, our fear vanished. I was the one to blame for losing sight of my brother. I was the one to blame for causing a situation that could have been worse.
After the chaos, I reflected over what had occurred and came to conclude that my brother is more important than everything else. I should of ran after him. I should have told him where to
