Personal Narrative: My Visit To Florida International University
The event that I choose to follow summer fest was a simple and casual visit to the wellness and recreational center, fancy way of saying the gym. Upon my first ever visit to Florida International University I still remember at our freshmen orientation entering the gym and thinking to myself this seems like a place that I will be visiting often during my four year tenure at school. And boy was I right, the facility was clean and professional looking very much like a professional gym would appear, the staff where all kind and ready to assist you if help was ever necessary, something that I truly valued. I was extremely exited to take a spinning class at the FIU gym, I had only ever heard positive reviews and I was looking forward to the experience as well. Personally I am obsessed with fitness so any class, or activity is something that I love to experience which is what drove me to experience the class myself, and did, I love it. When I got out of that class I was sweating so much, I felt like I had gone on a run around the world and it so amazing, the instructor knew exactly what she was doing and had no problem helping you out if you needed it, the music was fun and exiting extremely up tempo. Overall I can only rave about the experience, it was positive and motivational. It has truly inspired me to no matter how stressed I may be I can always go down to the gym and relieve my stress while gaining a benefit as well. …show more content…
The value aspect of my experience is something that I personally knew, physical fitness is not only a way to look better, but feel better about yourself as well, and the classes, workers, and the overall look of the gym only motivates me even more to get in shape and work even harder as a member of the Florida International University

Throughout my academia, I have been a member of several clubs and organizations, but have yet to attend a free leadership and service conference. The National Society of Collegiate Scholars needs a free in-person event that hosts a multitude of workshops from becoming a better member, to becoming a better leader and more. This event should be a two-day weekend long including update meetings on how the organization is accomplishing its endeavors and goals in terms of membership count, influence in the community, and upcoming events. During a workshop, we could bring in experts to discuss how to become a better writer to increase our chances of earning NSCS scholarships and other scholarships. In another workshop, our members and club leaders…

My personal reaction when visiting the downtown YMCA facility was that everything seemed well organized. From the moment you walk through the door you had immediate help from staff members trying to assist you in whatever you needed. The staff members were able to answer any questions I had prepared for them and even gave me a tour of the whole facility. During the tour I was impressed with how detailed and well the staff member was with explaining what programs were available within the facility. He presented a whole lay out on how I would go about joining the different programs they had available, fee information, and the certain age groups I could expect to see within certain programs.…

I came to North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in the fall. I suffered from depression my junior and senior year of high school. I was never officially diagnosed, because I lied to every therapist my mother sent me to. I could not be honest with anyone but myself at the time. However, I thought things would be different when I came to college. I thought I would be able to open up to people again, but I never anticipated that I would get worse. I thought college would cure me, for some reason. Ironically, I got even worse my first semester in college. My previous burdens added on to the pressure of getting good grades, being involved on campus, and trying to make friends. It was all too much for me. It also didn't help…

So my senior year starting the baseball season with a new coach, I made my mind up, I’m going to work hard to stay in Florida and change my coaches mind. Through my senior year I was by far the best pitcher my ERA was under 1, I had 27 pick- offs in just one year. Also this year I was interviewed for being the hot shot of the week, an article in the newspaper. I was nominated for picking off 7 base runners in one game. I learned my pick off move from my coach in middle school before I knew my summer league coach. So I was still working with my summer league coach every once in a while at this point, but…
