Personal Narrative: Omniscient Voice

“You can’t.” Throughout my youth these words would echo inside my head, like that of an omniscient voice that knew everything about me. That’s because that voice was my own. It was because of these words that I felt helpless, but after hearing something enough times you grow sick of it. That’s exactly what happened with me, and I was sick of just sitting there like a helpless welp.
So I made up my mind, I can be something more. I knew it would be difficult, but between sitting there, and giving things a try the decision wasn’t difficult. I knew solving something like this wouldn’t be simple, so I decided to use something I knew to help, video games. I would model personality traits from my favorite characters.
It’s because of this hardship
that I understand when one of my friends might want to just give up, but I can’t let them. Through perseverance, and a bit of charm if I may say for myself, within a few years I went from barely being able to talk to a girl to class president. Hopefully one day I can help others see what I saw sitting inside myself in themself.
