Personal Narrative: Schizophrenic Substance Abuse

It was a mid-November night, I was lying there wallowing in my own tears. Guilt and self-loathing were bubbling out of control inside of me. I got up and stumbled over to my bookshelf I grabbed my bottle of Ativan and shoved all the pills in my mouth. As I was about to swallow them but I remembered a promise I had made to my mother. I would get help if I got to this state. I spit the pills back into the bottle and went to my mom and told her I needed help.
We went to our local psych ward (laughs) where I stabilized for 4 or 5 days. Being inpatient is an interesting experience to say the least it feels like a plush jail. The food was good, I learned many coping skills that I still use. I made friends with my schizophrenic roommate, I learned
