Instead, I wear a T-shirt, a pair blue jeans, and tennis shoes on a daily basis because that is what I feel comfortable in, personally. I do not meet the beauty standards that society has set, yet I am one of the happiest teenagers in America. Some might ask, how is this possible? In response, I would say nothing more than “Imperfection is perfection.” It happens far too often that young girls open a magazine and see the unrealistic Barbie doll figures of supermodels and actors. As a result, a girl’s self-esteem can be dropped to such low levels that her views of herself are very atrocious; many women even hate their bodies. Even worse are the advertisements for make-up that say men will only want you if a woman if she wears make-up. Again, there is nothing wrong with women who want to lose weight or who do wear make-up as long as they do so for themselves. Women should be able to express themselves in all aspects of their beings without being shaped by the opinion of others. If all women were “tens out of ten” and all met the same definition of beauty, then there would be no diversity in America, or even the world. Obviously, if every woman were the same, then no woman would be unique. Imperfections are what make us all special. So what if you are twenty pounds overweight? If you spend your entire life in self-pity, then you will never truly enjoy the life that God has given you. To solve this dilemma one thing should happen. Every time a female looks into a mirror and does not like what she sees, she should ask herself, “Does God make mistakes?” The answer is no, and no woman should ever forget that. Women should know that imperfection is perfection and that there is nothing more beautiful than a woman who is
