Personal Narrative: Spring Break At My Moms School
Over spring break, I played a great deal of baseball at my moms school. I also watched a lot of Netflix on my TV. I played a large amount of video games as well and had a lot of fun. I also did the math challenge on the second day of spring break to get it over with.

On Monday, Wednesday, and Friday I went to my moms school to play baseball with my dad and her. She asked the janitors if we could come over the break. They allowed us to come play for a couple of hours. I pitched, bat, fielded and got a lot of practice.

Almost everyday I would watch TV. I always watched a show called supernatural. This is one of my favorite shows. There are 12 seasons and this is my third time re-watching the series. I watched a couple episodes everyday. One of the 9 days of spring break, I spent all day watching tv on the last day , I watched the season finally of season7 of the walking dead.

Throughout my years of high school I have always strived for the best grades that I could attain, and they didn’t come easy. There were plenty of distractions that had driven me off course. Whether it was long hours at practice, volunteering for my community, or having a part-time job, I couldn’t let these activities hinder my grades. This purpose had sprung in me, to not only strive in my extracurricular activities, but also my schoolwork. Balancing both school and additional activities wasn’t a simple task. This led me to many sleepless nights, in which I had to tutor myself on certain topics I was struggling on. This ranged from my hardest subject, to studying extra hours on my hardest class, and even simple topics that I needed extra work…

When it comes to school, I guess you could say that my mom was a bit of a nerd. She was extremely smart and exceeded in every class. She went to a Catholic school until fourth grade. She said, about this school, “Not much happened here, I was placed in Reading and Math groups by myself, and no, I was never hit with rulers over the knuckles by the nuns, if you were wondering.” In middle school, she was placed in an advanced class and by the time she left she was finished with all her required high school math classes. She was also inducted into the National Junior Honor Society where she held the office of Secretary. In high school, since she was a big nerd, she took college level math courses and AP in all other classes. She also played…

Back in 2012 I was accepted into Early college academy at south-ridge (ECAS). This school is particularly special because it allows high school students to take dual credit courses in a community college. Obtaining high grades in my classes while also being required to do my best was something I always had trouble with. I was the the type of person who didn't mind a 70 when it came to report cards, until I found out colleges didn't like students with low grades or at least with low performance like me. My freshman year I made the decision to improve my grades and become a better student.…

It was 2009 and I had been in sixth grade for a couple of months. I was on the phone with one of my friends from school when my mom called through my door for me to come out into the living room. I ignored her and kept talking for a few minutes when she called me out again. I rolled my eyes and told my friend I would call her right back. I walked into the living room and it seemed odd to me that both my sisters and dad were all out there too. I watched my mom take a deep breath with my dad by her side. As she began to speak her voice shook and gloss covered her eyes. “The doctors found a lump in my last mammogram.” she said. “It came back as cancer. I’m going to have to get treatment but I’m going to be okay.” No one else said a word, we all…

During my freshman year of high school I received a letter in the mail. This letter was an invitation to play basketball in Australia, with other boys and girls of my age. The date was September 13, 2011. The letter stated that we would be leaving June 1, of 2012. Of course I wanted to go as soon as I read the letter, but my family was more curious about the trip. We did some research and figured out everything that would be offered on this trip. In my research I read of playing Australian basketball games, snorkeling, swimming in the ocean, surfing, and spending three days on Tangalooma Island. This was enough to convince my family that it would indeed be a fun trip for me to attend.…
