I really wanted to do good and make varsity my sophomore year and I thought that if I changed my technique maybe I’d get there. For young throwers that have a smaller body type, the rotational technique is easier so that they can throw farther. When doing rotational it means that you’re spinning in a circle as if you were doing discus, but with a shot put. With the glide, you’re looking towards the back of the ring in which you throw in and go backward towards the front. Finally, it was school season I was ready to throw farther and make varsity. After around half of the season was over I still wasn’t doing as good as I wanted, actually, I was doing worse than the year before. I was mad. I had been working so hard all year and it seemed like it was a waste of time and I shouldn't even have done it. I decided that I would talk to my coach and ask his opinion on if I should even keep doing rotational or if I should go back to the glide because I realized if I wanted to be good I needed a change. My coach helped me individually for months on rotational because he wanted me to do good, but I felt bad because he put in a lot of time and effort to help me and I may just give it up. One meet my coach and I decided that I would throw two of my throws from rotational and my other two in
