I told my mom about these feelings; she said it was called the school blues.
Since I didn’t know what my mom was talking about, I asked her what she was talking about. Mom explained to me that school blues is how you feel, and it seems like nobody cares. But they do consider your feelings. “Mom what I’m trying to say is that I feel happy when I’m in the classroom, but when we go outside nobody lets me play their game.” “Okay”, says mom. “I know you will think this is weird, but all of your classmates care.” I think, about what mom said maybe mom is right. May be my classmates do care about me. “Sweetie Pie!” my mom calls me. “We‘re home!” I jump out of
the car and ask mom for the keys. I open the door. All done!! Mom smiles at me; I’m learning how to open the door. Me and my mom walk in the house. I drop my backpack on the floor. And then, I look at the calendar, I sigh. “What’s wrong, cutie pie?” My mom asks. I point to the day of my birthday. “That’s what’s bothering me.” I told mom. After we’re comfortable on the couch, my mom asks “Why is your birthday bothering you? “Because, I don’t think that I’m ready for this.” I tell my mom. “And, why is that?” “I feel like all my classmates won’t care about my birthday, like they do on the playground.” “Okay” says mom. “Let me tell you what happened when I was a kid.” I smile; I love to hear mom’s childhood. Mom begins her story.
