The day started fairly normal, I woke up to the sound of my annoying alarm. Since I finished high school recently, I decided that I need a job so that I can sustain myself and to not keep bothering my parents for money for everything I wanted. I don't about other but honestly, I don't like asking my parents for money. Anyway, back to what I was saying, so I decided that I need a job, and I found one which looked promising.
What happened that changed my destiny was on the way to the interview. I was walking to the company building, it was actually a fairly big company. When I got there and found a seat to wait to be let in for the interview an earthquake started happening. It was quite a powerful one, if I was to estimate how powerful is, I would say that it would be around 5~6 on Richter scale. Thirty seconds after the earthquake started I was above me a piece of …show more content…
ceiling falling on me. And now you might ask yourself, where the fuck was I, shouldn't I be under something to protect myself?
In front of all the doors, there was already somebody since there were that many to begin with even though this was a relatively big company, plus the fact that a lot of people came for the interview. The chairs were the only alternative but I couldn't fit under them since they were made in a weird way so that they were pinned to the wall. And you might ask yourself another question. How could I be so slow that I didn't get to a door? You know how everybody tells you that when there's an earthquake you need to stay calm and don't run and all that shit? Well, when the earthquake started everybody panicked like it was the end of the world. They run, bumped into each other, trampled over whoever fell on the floor. I didn't feel to the floor but people still bumped into me I didn't get to a door in time.
If I was retarded I would have fought somebody over a safe place but I was not so I decided that what it will be it will be. So I sat on a chair waiting for the earthquake to finish. And here comes the moment when the ceiling started falling towards me. I was fairly calm in front of death. Actually, I never regarded my life that high. I didn't actually care if I died or something, I was only sad because I knew that my parents and sister will miss me. I was always loved by my family and had an easy life. By easy life, I mean that I never had to learn much for school because every time I had tests or exams I somehow got something that I know. Somehow fate watched over me.
After that broken ceiling fell on me I died instantly since it fell on my head so I didn't had a painful and long death, but a painless and quick death. And now here I am, in a beautiful room made out wood. There not many things in this room except some bookshelves full with books in the back, a little bamboo fountain on my right and all kinds of paintings on the wall, some shows creatures I have never seen, other shows unending mountains, beautiful forests and all kinds of landscapes. Now coming back, I was in a chair, in front of me was a square table, on the other end of the table was a woman, a breathtaking woman, she white hair that seemed to glow, she was not old, exactly the opposite, she was young, I think she was in her early twenties. Her eyes were in perfect contradiction with her hair, they were a deep black, they seem to suck your soul if you looked too much in them. She was wearing a beautiful red cheongsam that was showing her ample breasts and hourglass figure. She was looking at me very intently.
Finally, when I couldn't resist the urge anymore I asked her, "Umm... why are you staring at me like that?"
She tilted her head in a cute manner when I said that, but her face quickly changed into one that showed that she remembered something. She started smiling wryly and told me, "I'm sorry for staring like that at you, but I don't know if I should call you lucky or unlucky. You see, the earthquake that you experimented before you died was because your world started changing, your world was granted access to the system, it is similar to what you saw in RPG games, with it came mana, skills, monsters and all kinds of other things but at the same time your planet started changing to accommodate all these changes. In this process, around 2 billion people died. And you were one of them. But you are one of the few that was accepting his death with a very calm attitude, there aren't many that can keep calm in the face of death. Anyway, coming back to what I was saying, you died, but because your world has been granted access to the system, some other 'benefits' came with it too. Like this one, when somebody dies, they have a very small chance of coming here and undergoing a test which will decide their next life. From your planet, Earth, a total of 100 people came," she finished telling me that all in one breath.
It wasn't the hard for me to understand what she told me. So I died, and now I have a chance of undergoing a test that will decide what kind of life I will have after I will be reincarnated or something like that. I was a bit sad when I heard about the system and all the changes that were done to Earth, but I was even more worried when I didn't know what happened to my parents and sister.Maybe I can ask her about them? It was worth giving it a try.
With that thought in mind, I tried asking her, "I have a few questions but first of all, can you tell me what happened to my parents and sister after all the changes that happened?" I didn't have to wait too much since she answered almost immediately, "They are fine, you don't need to worry about them, and here's a thing that will motivate you even more. If you successfully pass my test I will make sure to protect them without them realising it, but I will not give them anything else, I will only ensure that they will not be killed by somebody or a monster but they will suffer the hardships of the world," she told me with a special glint in her eyes. I didn't know what her test was but I was determined to pass it.
After she finished answering my question she waited, most likely waiting for me to ask the next question so I did, "Thanks for telling me about my relatives, now my next question is who are you?
You know all of that and even promised to protect my parents if I pass your test, so I can only think of you as some deity or something similar," without breaking eye contact I waited for her answer which again came almost instantly, if I didn't know I would have thought that she already knew what I was going to ask beforehand, "Because I know, and for your question, I'm the Goddess of Life and Death, Runja," it would be a lie to say that I wasn't surprised by what she told because I
was.
Even if she knew what I was going to ask I decided to ask anyway, "Okay, the next question, what kind of test am I supposed to undergo?" Runja smirked at my question, "I can't tell you anything beforehand about the test because it will be random, but even if I knew I wouldn't tell you since that would have ruined all the fun," I wasn't expecting anything but it is still better than nothing, "When can I start the test?" I asked without hesitation since me undergoing a test decided my parents and sister destiny then I will give everything I have.
"It has already begun," after Runja said that the space around me started twisting and turning, in a second I was already in a different location, no longer sitting on a chair, everything around me was white. Suddenly a black smoke appeared in front of me and started taking form. After the smoked finished the creature looked like a human except that it didn't have eyes, there's was only a black space in the place of its eyes, its mouth was full of sharp teeth like a shark, its hands had sharp claws that were gleaming with a black light, its hair was black and was already reaching its waist in length. He was tall but skinny, so skinny that it looked like he was a skeleton with skin.
