Personal Narrative: What I Learned In The Military
In 2004 at the young age of 19 I found myself in a new place, a new world that I had never seen before. I joined the Marines out of High School to see the world and learn about other people. What I learned in the military I have applied it to my daily life. I learned to never judge someone by what they look like or how they live. Just because it is new to you or different dose not mean it is wrong.
As a police officer I learned to appreciate that everyone is different and unique. I was able to apply the times I went overseas and the different people I'd met in the military to my work as an officer. People from all over talk different, dress different, and act different. You cannot judge someone on these things and need to go into each situation
