Though I tried making friends with everybody, my preferences shifted for a while on who I hung out with and who I was most comfortable with, but I eventually settled, and I am still friends with these people to this day. I stayed at Discovery for two years before Summit Hills Elementary was finished being built before the beginning of my fifth grade year, and I started to attend school there. Most of my close friends came with me. There was a much more welcoming environment. All the swearing and bullying I had despised at Discovery evaporated. The teachers there were kind and loving and patient. I was knitted closer to my friends than ever before. They helped me see the fun in everything and made me who I am on a very personal level. But of course, all things come to an end, and the end of elementary led to the beginning of Rocky Mountain Middle School. This new transition was harder than even being the new kid in Discovery. It gave me exposure that I was unaccustomed to, and that left me feeling virtually helpless. The school was huge and daunting to my eyes, there were too many unfamiliar faces, and the feeling of a safe environment was gone. However, I forced myself past my fears and branched out. I made new friends, met new people. Seventh grade taught me how to put on a thicker skin, something I was lacking
