Growing up with a family that loved baseball, with a dad that played college baseball and also coached the game it made me want to be the next Derek Jeter. I wanted to be the best of the best! It was my very first love, it's what I grew up doing. Ever since I was really young I had aspirations for playing at the college level and beyond that. On July 2nd, 2015 my life was changed due to the publicly acclaimed worst baseball injury in history, Tommy John. I had tore my right ulnar collateral ligament in the middle of a game. After the injury and a couple days that have went by I knew that I wasn't going to be able to throw for a very long time. I prayed day after day for God’s blessing to heal me and to guide me in the right direction. I was ready to go to war with whatever God was going to put me through. The Ohio State coaches heard about the injury through the grapevine before I could even call them. They referred me to the Cleveland Indians doctor who was also the doctor that did all of the Ohio State baseball players elbow surgeries. I went in to meet Dr. Schickendantz the day before the surgery to talk about my tear and what he was gonna do in details so I could understand everything, talking to him made me feel a lot more comfortable. On August 10th, I went in and got the surgery at 6am. Dr. Schickendantz had cut my elbow open about 5-6 inches and drilled 4 holes in my humerus and ulna radius bones in my arm. After the holes were drilled he cut the front of my knee and reached to the back and grabbed my hamstring graft and pulled it out and figureighted it through the 4 holes in my elbow and sewed me back up.
