Books have been a part of my life for a long time. My grandparents would make me read to pass the time when I would stay over with them. All throughout middle school we were required to meet a certain minimum reading quota per semester. Initially this gave me sort of a reluctant outlook on books. When I got to Highschool books were practically a foreign entity. During my senior year this changed drastically. I was introduced to books I cared about and found interesting.
The great writer H.P. Lovecraft had one of the greatest impacts on me as a writer. I found the eldritch abominations to be fascinating as I read through the complex array of words. Reading about the cosmic entities and complete madness in some of his works hooked me. I enjoy the thought of being able to tell a story while using an unconventional way of telling it. I found the energy and strength a person gets when they debate a topic they feel strongly in is invigorating. Most of the papers in that class were very short, they were mainly just describing how we feel about a certain subject. These civic courses are one way I learned to do research. I began doing a lot of research during that period. Not only did I research political matters, I did research in myown personal free time. Most of my hobbies are very competitive.
