When I was younger I didn't have much to do. Since my school gave me a deficient amount of homework, I would be bored most of the day. Then one Christmas my mom gave me a miniature remote controlled car. The car was a crimson sports car with charcoal flames running down either side. On the rear of the car was a pitch-dark spoiler with a red line streaming down the middle. There were small rubber spikes all over the tires built for traction. Now that i'm older I think it was probably because they were shiny. Without the car I would have hated 1st grade, but it kept me entertained for

My choice has got me bruised, fractured and, or almost clean breaks. My choice is bull riding. When I was 10 I started to ride. My first ride I hung on and got 2nd place. I thought it was so fun and easy that I would try it with no gear because I got beginner's luck. So the next rodeo was my keiki rodeo and I thought I could ride it.... 3 seconds went by and I got stepped on my hand and back. I had been checked out by the ambulance and ice packed. I thought just because it happened one time it wouldn't happen again. So I tried riding with only chaps so my legs would get as sore. So my next keiki rodeo I hung on for 6 second, which means I made my time, but just as I heard the buzzer ring with a loud "brapppphhh" I flopped over onto my back…

As I stepped into the mud colored cattle car, just the sight of it had made me wince. As I entered, it was like the other passengers were staring at me with shame, since if you were in the cattle car you had to of done something bad. I quickly put my head down. I could just feel the sticky wretched smell of feces and body odor in the car. My mother and I put our suitcases on the shelves, heaving them with all our strength to the very top shelf. We waited hours for in the dark, crammed, and smelly car before we started moving.…

It all began when a was a little boy and all I wanted was a dog, for years I begged and begged, and still no dog. I felt as if I was incomplete without one, I had even written persuasive essays in school on why I should get a dog and waited and just hoped for it. Finally, when I was in 5th grade, I found a church ministry where we met once month and came up with ideas to raise money for the local rescue. During the meetings, we would also go for a walk, those who had animals would walk them. One time, somebody from the rescue came with one of the rescue dogs for the walk, which inspired me to go to the rescue and check it out.…

Living in West Virginia, one has ridden in a pick-up truck at least once. If it was in the front seat or the back, especially when you’re six foot three with your knees in your chest. Or when everyone hopped in the bed, you knew it was going to be a good time. Growing up my father had two trucks that I can remember, both of them I loved to ride in. The first one was the definition of a work truck, and it broke down everywhere. The other one was a very nice family truck that he loved, and so did I considering it was the first vehicle I ever drove. I currently drive a truck as my daily driver, and considering my history, I want to test if there is a better truck out there than mine. So I will be testing: suspension, carrying, handling, and gas…

“I DON’T CARE MOM!” I screamed at the top of my lunges. We were driving along I-95 on the sway home from my successful driver's license test. I was 16. I was normal. The radio played in the background but it couldn’t be heard over my mom yelling. This was the same crap I dealt with every day. I could have sworn that woman tried to find something to fight over: this time it was about how I should, “be more responsible” and “find a job” and “needing to grow up!”…

I should be mad but I am more shocked at trying to be taken advantage of. Several months ago I bought myself a used 2005 Subaru at a Ford dealership. Today I went to get an oil change at the local Subaru dealership for $29.99. After about 20 to 30 minutes go by the customer service gentleman came into the waiting area and called my name. I followed him out as he started to tell me he needed to show me something about my car. I was told my sway bar was loose and moving, something about links and bushings and that I needed new brakes on the front of my car. I asked for an estimate of each. Both estimates together totaled over $700. I was then asked if I wanted it taken care of right then and there because they have the parts on hand. I told…

Motorcycles started to interest me after riding on the back of my boyfriend's WR450f; I loved the feeling of the wind as we rode past Chicago landmarks. I fell in love with the adrenaline rush and decided to sign up for motorcycle classes. Despite being bruised and exhausted from riding the bike for 10 hours in the summer heat, I was having more fun than I could have imagined. I even fell off the bike two times, but that did not discourage me. After leaving class the second day, I got a call from my boyfriend's sister telling me that he was in the hospital after a motorcycle accident. His bike was destroyed, and doctors told him he was lucky to be alive.…
