Nevertheless, this unknown dream of being successful becomes my primary focus. This dream job had to bring me happiness, job security, motivation to become better, and success. During this planning, I focus on the common skills such as proper communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to ask to reach my career goals. Communication is not a mastery skill, but it is the most valuable skill to have both oral and written. The most important advice I was given was through an library at a college, “is to always find ways to challenge yourself and improve on how to write professional via email or for project.” Interpersonal skills are a fundamental skill. The early chapters of the book focused on creating awareness to the idea that being truly successfully results from choosing a job that sparks passion, risk, and excitement in life. Combs gave excellent advice in aiding students to find what they are truly passionate about. While reading the sections that included reader interaction, such as pulling out a pen and jotting down your passions or ranking values of the workplace, I found myself actively participating in these exercises solely based on my own curiosity and interest in becoming successful. I found the exercises to be very useful as it helped confirm my passions and possible options for my dream job. Throughout the book, Combs provided excellent transitions from one chapter to the next. Being so engaged by suggestions within the book, I was lured into reading the next chapter and reflect on aspects of my own life as Combs brings up the topic.…

After Graduate School, I hope to have my PhD in psychology or my doctorate in psychiatry. I would like to start out working in jails, talking to criminals and analyzing their brains versus the brain of an average adult to study how the brain reacts with criminal activity and why they do and feel what they do. I have heard that a person can not do that type of work for very long because it is emotionally tasking so after that, I would like to open my own counseling practice up. I would do either marriage and family therapy or focus on teenage depression. Eventually, I would like to retire into school psychology or become a psychology teacher. Also, if I ever have enough money, I will buy a house devoted to taking in stray animals…

The important pursuit of financial success is an idea that has been drilled into my head by the adults in my life from early on; my parents struggled in life, and for me they wanted a better, easier, future for me. What I took away from this was that I would not be successful and happy without the money and credentials as well. I could not understand why so many of my classmates wanted to be writers and artists; didn't they too want to be successful? However, the summer before my senior year, I had an idea that would change my thought process forever: a visit to the gateway of success, the Naval Academy.…

Every person has their own passions and their own interests in different topics. I have a strong interest in the Medical field and everything that has to do with Anatomy and Biology likewise I love working with people so my dream is to become an anesthesiologist. In order for me to define my career as successful I want to have full days of helping others. I want to be ready to go home at the end of the day, and wake up excited to go to work. I believe my success will be directly linked to my background. When I was younger I watched my single mom struggle. I know it was really hard for her because she was going to school, working full time, and taking me back and forth from day care. Because of her I never had a doubt in my mind about going to college, it was just something I knew I was going to do, but I wasn’t sure what I was going to do in school until my aunt got sick; every day I watched her suffer…

In 5th grade, I started my own little business. I would go to school and sell Mardi Gras beads I got from my family. I sold the beads for twenty-five cents to my peers and teachers and fifty cents to strangers. I only sold for a week, but that week I would go home with between five to seven dollars each day. I did not have a reason for wanting to sell the beads, in particular, I just wanted to make money and save all the money I earned. That same "want" has driven me throughout my life. In middle school, my dad and uncle started a business running a food truck. Because I was too young and was in school, I only worked with them during the summer. There I learned how to handle money, provide great customer service, and how to market and advertise.…
