According to a French author, journalist and philosopher Albert Camus, “We continue to shape our personality all our life. If we knew ourselves perfectly, we should die.” Personality is a pattern of behavior thought, and emotion unique to an individual, and the ways they interact to help or hinder the adjustment of a person to other people and situations (Wright, 1998). It has always been a cliché saying that our personality defines us, but it is true then. These are the things which could describe the kind of person we are. But the catch is that, we shape our personality and our personality is dynamic. Environment takes a vital role in influencing who we are. Actually, it a two-way process where our personality influences our interaction to our environment and at the same time environment influences us.
Knowing our personality would enable us to become genuine, effective and efficient in our way of life. Also, it brings about a high level of self-awareness and a clear concept of our self. These will then result to accepting who you are and feeling good about yourself. You can distinguish what are your strengths and weaknesses, and work things out for these. Also, it will allow you to develop a better relationship with other people by accepting and understanding them more.
