The personality assessment method is how psychologist tests personalities where they measure what is intangible or invisible. According to Morris & Maisto (2005) who states that these personality assessment methods is like “testing the intelligence.” They also say that when “measuring personality, psychologist’s use four basic tools such as the personal interview, direct observation of behavior; objective test; and projective test.” Each of these tools is associated with the major theories in personality. For instance, the Jung Personality test, I think corresponds to the trait personality theory because this
theory says that every individual has a unique trait in their personalities. As many as sixteen characters of personality are found this test which is considered objective. Moreover, the Jung Personality test is also found in the humanistic theory which is also considered objective because as the results are displayed then one has a motivation force to move ahead within their personal growth and their levels of functioning is very high. Now take for example, the Psychodynamic assessment is where the person has unconscious mixture of things such as the thoughts, the feelings, the conflicts, and what motivates a person, they like to use the “projective tests of personalities” (Morris & Maisto, 2005). However, the social learning theory assessment is based on the determined by past experiences and interviews as well as they like to observe what happens to those around them within the set environment. And this theory, the objective tests is considered to be the most widely used when assessing personality. The online test I took was the Jung Personality test which is objective type of test. The results I obtained from the Jung Personality test was that it was very accurate when it came to my personality because it said that my behavior was of an extrovert person. I am also firm, organized, and consistent in everything I do. I took the test about three times and every time it came out to the same answer such as an extrovert personality and therefore, this is very. In the projective type, the accuracy of this test has its advantages when testing personality because people are very flexible and in a relaxed environment when taking it this test and the accuracy is that they probably won’t fake the answers when in reality the people may not know the purpose of the test. The objective test is generally written test and when scoring, they use standard procedure. However, the objective test is the one that is used often by psychologist when assessing personality. The accuracy of this test is that if a person doesn’t know themselves well then they are more likely not to be objective of the test.
