These days, minors committing crimes such as theft, rape and murder gets imprisoned for a while but they also get released a few hours later. Because of this, minors continue to commit crimes because they know that they will not get tried for the crime they did. According to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), more than 2,600 juvenile delinquency cases are reported in 2009 and more than 1,200 are reported on the following year. However, DSWD claims that there are still many unreported cases throughout the country. As time passes, the number of juvenile delinquents increases to a surprising amount. Without government control, these cases will continue to rise in an even unimaginable rate. People say that jail is not a place for kids and that jail can make the situation of children even worse. Government can put up a jail that is for minors only wherein there will be seminars and counseling every day until their sentence is done. But the consequences on these cases must be a bit lighter than those with the adults. We implement rules to teach them a lesson and not to kill them. Many parents hurt their children to teach them a lesson. Most of the time, children with parents like this have learned their lesson and have changed their life for the better.
