Persuasive Essay About Zoos
We need zoos!

Healthcare, high quality food and a nice environment. These are just a few of the myriad reasons why zoos are good for animals. Normally people are against zoos because they think that animals do not have the correct living standards while in zoos, people think this because all we hear about zoos are negative things but if you took the time to delve deeper into this topic you will find out that zoos are an important part of today’s society and without them animals, science and human education would not be the same.

Zoos provide as high if not higher quality of life as in the wild for animals. These beautiful creatures will not have to suffer from the threat or stress of predators; neither will they die of drought, pain, illnesses or starvation while in a zoo. Instead the animals will have a long lasting life where they will be able to happy knowing that predators won’t get to them, their illnesses will be treated and they will be fed with a high quality, varied and balanced diet in which all of their supplementary requirements are met. When in zoos we will be able to study how the species live, act and react in different environments and conditions. Zoos around the world play a very important role in research relating to plants, animals, and people, which can contribute to scientific knowledge in areas such as natural history, welfare and disease and population biology. An example of one of these vital zoos would be Chester Zoo. Chester Zoo has developed expertise in multiple disciplines for example animal behaviour and nutrition, the research is led by staff with scientific expertise in their field. The major effect is that very little is accomplished because people are directionless, find the atmosphere chaotic, and are at a loss to know what to do. So, they tend to do nothing. While in some situations, people will thrive on this direction-less freedom, laissez-faire leadership will be unsuccessful and unproductive (pp. 45). Challenging the status quo is an important leadership skill (Kouzes & Posner, 2007).” In their action, the superintendents were alerting the principal that he was leading a group of people, not just himself, and should have greater concern about what those who are following are doing.
